Indian super league Club Kerala Blasters Extended the contract of their young Defender Bijoy Varghese for 3 more years. As per report the player already signed the new contract with Kerala Blasters. Bijoy Varghese mainly played as a Centre Back.
Once he joined Kerala Blasters, the 21 year old defender started his journey with Kerala Blasters reserve team. He played almost all matches for the Kbfc reserve team in last year’s Kerala premier league. His stunning performance for the reserve team lead his entry to the Senior team squad. Now he was with Kerala Blasters Durand Cup squad.
Bijoy Varghese has been the part of the Kerala Blasters senior squad since the start of preseason training in kochi. He was played 3 preseason Matches for Kerala Blasters. Bijoy who hails from Trivandrum started his football career with Kovalam FC. At the starting stage of his career Bijoy played as a Striker. Then finally turned as a Centre Back.
In 2018 Bijoy was the part of the Kerala team who reached in the finals of the International School Championship. And he awarded as the best Defender in that tournament. Because of his performance for the Kerala team he was selected to the Indian team for Asian school Championship.
Bijoy also played for Khelo India & SAI (Sports Authority of India). He previously attended the trails for East Bengal. Last year he got selected for the Kerala State team for the Santhosh Trophy, which was cancelled due to Corona. The contract extension of this Player will be a valuable asset for Kerala Blasters.
